Two sailboats on a foggy morning on West Bay as the sun rises during a spring morning.

BELOW IS A LIST OF
THE EQUIPMENT I'M USING...

While quality gear can expand the technical possibilities of photography, as a photographer I believe the development of a trained eye is crucial for the ability to capture and frame beautiful images. Without a creative instinct and the ability to see through the ordinary and find the extraordinary, good equipment is only, good equipment.

  • CAMERAS: Nikon D2X (Unquestionably a tremendous, inspiring camera...see the [HELPFUL LINKS] page) and D2H

  • LENSES (All Nikon): 12-24mm; 28-70mm; 80-400mm VR; 5T & 6T closeup diopters; circular polarizer

  • FLASH: Nikon SB-800

  • TRIPODS & HEADS: Bogen 3021 BPRO tripod, with a Kirk BH-1 ball head and quick release plate (this is truly a great ball head that's reasonably priced...see the [HELPFUL LINKS] page). I always take photographs from a tripod and use a cable release

  • PRINTMAKING: All photographs are captured in RAW, then converted to a TIFF file. I do all image work in Photoshop CS2, and Nikon Capture on a high-end PC.
